I teach 7th grade ICT. It is an Information and Communication Technology class, 7th grade computer. We study careers, basic computer functions, Word, Presentations, Multimedia, and 21st Century Learning skills.
Sometimes I read to my students things that go along with topics we have covered in class or that fit with their curriculum in history or science, but most of the time I read something that has tickled my fancy or that I think is just irresistible not to share. I like for them to see an adult get excited about learning and how fun it can be. My students sit in front of their own desktop computer in my class, so when I am reading to them this is where they are. The topics I read generally generate a lively 2-3 minute discussion afterward about how they connect to what I am reading.
I am a former middle school English teacher, and I love forwarding your emails to my history and English teacher friends too! Keep up the good work!

Just found this website and I love it! Plan on using it at library programs with school-age kids (using our Smart Board) as program introductions. How about something on Rocks / Geology?
